The £175k Farmhouse Remediation project involved structural repair and alteration works to an existing traditionally built farmhouse in Cheshire. We carried out a visual survey of the property and designed replacement timber floor joists, assessed the existing central timber floor beam with remedial ties and crack repairs, and provided a new masonry support pier on a concrete pad foundation.

We also specified a new softwood purlin and rafter cut roof to the eastern side of the dwelling, together with a remedial joint detail for a slipped existing purlin and corner strapping to the masonry walls. A later phase covered the design of a steel floor support beam, including a site visit, to allow an internal wall to be removed.
