D20-one is dedicated to delivering expert, professional Structural and Civil Engineering Design Services.

D20-one was set up with honesty, integrity and quality in mind, no matter what client or project we are working with.

We are trusted to deliver projects of all sizes, with a proven record for quality and reliability across a diverse selection of sectors.

As Chartered Engineers, we work alongside every client, stakeholder and third party during a project to deliver solutions that not only work, but are also cost effective, practical and exceed expectations.

Our clients

We work with a wide range of commercial and domestic clients to deliver Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy Services.

Our commercial clients range from Contractors, Developers, Steelwork Fabricators, and Local Authority providers to specific industry sectors including schools and colleges, healthcare organisations, industrial units, hospitality venues and retail units.

We work closely alongside project managers and their design team to ensure a seamless process from start to finish.

For individual clients or domestic residential projects, we work directly, or collaborate with appointed Architects, Fabricators and Contractors.

Meet the team

Jamie Ikin

Director, Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE)

Jamie founded D20-one Structural Design in 2023. He graduated from the University of Derby with a First-Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering, before going on to qualify as a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Structural Engineers.

With over a decade of experience in structural engineering, Jamie has worked on a wide range of projects, from residential and commercial buildings to complex bespoke structures.

Known for his attention to detail and technical expertise, Jamie brings a practical, solutions-focused approach to every project. His experience ensures projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. Providing reliable, high-quality structural solutions that are safe, efficient, and tailored to each client’s need.

Jamie’s long-term ambition is to build a reputation not only for great engineering but also as a supportive and rewarding place to work – one where staff feel valued, are encouraged to grow, and share in the company’s success.

Louie Bester

Structural Engineer

With over 8 years of experience in the construction industry, Louie began his career as a technician, gaining valuable hands-on experience in drafting and detailing before progressing into an engineering role.

This early grounding developed his practical understanding of Structural Design and Construction, forming a strong foundation for his professional growth.

Having completed his HNC in Civil Engineering at Nottingham College Louie later achieved his Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Salford.

Louie is passionate about delivering efficient, safe, and sustainable structures, combining technical expertise with a practical mindset. He enjoys working collaboratively to solve engineering challenges and is motivated by opportunities to innovate and continually develop his skills.

Ben Daykin

Chartered Civil Engineer

Ben is our Civil Engineer and Director of Benjamin Allen Consulting Engineers, with over 30 years’ experience delivering technically robust and compliant civil engineering solutions across all sectors.

His expertise includes highways, drainage, earthworks, and multidisciplinary coordination on projects ranging from £100k to £500 million.

As a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), Fellow of the Institution of Highway Engineers (IHE), and Chartered Member of CIWEM, he provides strong technical design and engineering judgement throughout all project stages, ensuring efficient well thought out solutions to the latest guidance.

D20-one and BACE work in close collaboration to deliver seamless management of projects and a full range of services from planning through to completion.

Derick Manu

Graduate Structural Engineer

Derick joined D20-one in 2026 following completion of a Civil Engineering Degree at the University of Derby, where he passed with First Class Honours bringing new technical abilities and skills which he will develop further at D20-one.

With a solid basis for Engineering and confident, professional approach, Derick is a strong addition to our team of multi-skilled Engineers.
